Move-in and move-out inspection

At move-in, the resident and manager record the condition of each room, usually on a checklist with photos. At move-out, the same checklist is compared to identify damage beyond normal wear and tear.

These inspections are the evidence behind any deposit deduction, and some states require a move-in checklist or a pre-move-out inspection. They also feed the make-ready scope for the next resident.
