Source-of-income protection
Laws that prohibit refusing or treating renters differently because of lawful income sources such as housing vouchers.
Many states and cities bar landlords from rejecting applicants because they pay with a Housing Choice Voucher, Social Security, child support or other lawful income. Some also limit how income requirements apply to the voucher-covered portion of rent.
Screening criteria, advertising (such as "no vouchers") and automated responses all need to reflect these rules. Coverage differs by location, so check local law.
