An ordered list of prospects waiting for a unit type or property that has no current availability.
Prospects join the waitlist with their preferences, and they are contacted in order when a matching unit is expected to open, often as soon as a notice to vacate comes in.
Waitlists shorten days to lease in high-demand properties and are required in many affordable housing programs, where order and selection rules are strict. Apply waitlist rules consistently and document every skip.
