Switching from your old system
A cutover plan: pick a date, rehearse in the sandbox, then go live with numbers that tie.
The safest switch is a rehearsed one. The Migration Wizard under Setup › Onboarding / migration lets you import into a sandbox as many times as you need before going live.
Pick a cutover date
Choose a month-end. Close that month in your old system, then set your General ledger start date in Setup › Organization to the first day of the next month.
